Solberra privacy policy

Solberra is operated by Gavry LLC (“we”, “us”), North Carolina, USA. This policy explains what we collect when you use solberra.com, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Questions: hello@solberra.com.

1. Who this covers

Creators: instructors and other people who sell media on Solberra.
Buyers: people who buy media. Buyers do not have accounts.
Guardians: parents or guardians asked by a creator to agree to the sale of media in which their child appears.
Participants: people who use “Find me” on an album.
Visitors to the site.

2. What we collect

Creators. When you sign in with Google or Facebook we receive your name, email address and profile picture from that provider. Stripe collects the details needed to verify you and pay you; we receive your Stripe account id, its verification status, and the country and state of your verified address. We store the media you upload, your album titles and prices, your branding images, the names you give items, your attestations for each album (with the time, your account id and the network address they were made from), and any guardian consent forms you choose to upload, and any music licences you choose to upload, with your own description of what they cover. We store them as you provide them and check that each file is a PDF or a photo. We do not read consent forms. For music licences, our own servers read the text only to check that it looks like a licence and names the music it covers; we keep that result, not the text. We do not verify either. We keep records of your sales, refunds, tips and referrals.

Buyers. At checkout Stripe collects your payment details; we never see your card number. We receive your email address, what you bought and what you paid, and we keep that record. We send your access link and receipts to that email address. If you ask for a list of everything you have bought, we send one link to that email; if you open it, your browser keeps that link in a cookie so the “My purchases” page opens without another email until it expires or you tell us to forget the browser.

Guardians. If a creator uses our consent request, we send an email to the address the creator gives us and record whether it was sent and opened. A signed consent form uploaded by a creator contains the child’s name, the guardian’s name and signature, and the class or lesson; we store it with the album and do not read what it says.

Participants (“Find me”). On some albums you can choose to upload a selfie to find the photos and videos you appear in. Your selfie is sent to our servers, compared with face measurements derived from that album’s published photos and videos, and deleted immediately after the comparison. We do not store the selfie, any measurement derived from it, or the result of the search.

Face measurements for albums. For published albums we compute face measurements from the album’s published photos and videos so that “Find me” can answer searches on that album. They are numbers, not names; they are not linked to any person or account; they are used only to answer “Find me” searches on that album; they are deleted when the album is unpublished or deleted; and they are never used to identify anyone across albums or for any other purpose. This runs on our own servers; no third party receives the media for it. “Find me” is not offered in every region, and the face measurements are not computed for creators in those regions.

Screening. Every upload is screened by automated systems for prohibited material before it can be published, and may be reviewed by a person. We keep a record of each screening result with the item.

Copyright notices. If you send us a copyright notice, we keep it and give a copy, including your contact details, to the creator concerned. If a creator sends a counter-notice, we keep it and give a copy to the person who sent the notice. We keep a record of the notices received about each creator.

Everyone. Our servers record the network address and the approximate location (country and region) of requests, used for security, rate limits, and to decide whether “Find me” is offered for your request. We keep short-lived technical logs.

Cookies. We use a session cookie for signed-in creators, the “My purchases” cookie described above, and a cookie that remembers choices such as dismissing a notice. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies.

3. What we use it for

To run the marketplace: publish albums, sell media, deliver access, send receipts and refunds, pay creators.
To keep children safe and comply with the law: screening, records of attestations and consents, and reports to authorities where the law requires.
To find your own photos when you ask (“Find me”).
To tell creators about sales and refunds, and buyers about their purchases.
To prevent fraud and abuse, including checks on referral and payment activity.
To respond when you contact us.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.

4. Email

We send transactional email: receipts, access links, sale and refund notices, consent requests, and account notices. Creators may send invitations to other creators through Solberra; those invitations carry an unsubscribe link, and an unsubscribed address is not emailed again.

5. Children

Solberra is for adults. Children do not use the site and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. Children may appear in media sold on Solberra; creators must have a parent’s or guardian’s agreement for that, and Solberra supplies a form for it. If you believe a child’s media is on Solberra without a guardian’s agreement, contact hello@solberra.com.

6. Who we share it with

We share personal information only with the providers that run the service for us, each bound to use it only for that purpose:

Stripe: payments, payouts and creator verification.
Google and Meta: sign-in for creators.
Hosting and storage providers for our servers, database and media (DigitalOcean, Cloudflare, Vercel).
Our email delivery provider (Resend) for the email described above.

We disclose information when the law requires it, including reports of prohibited material to the authorities, and to protect the safety of a person.

7. How long we keep it

Media, album details and face measurements: until the creator deletes them or unpublishes the album.
Attestation and consent records: we keep these as evidence of the agreement under which media was sold, even after the album or the account is deleted.
Music licences you upload: until you delete them.
Your answers to music-rights questions, and copyright notices and counter-notices: we keep these as evidence, as we do attestation records, even after the item, the album or the account is deleted.
Purchase and payout records: as long as tax and accounting law requires.
Screening records: as long as the law requires.
Selfies uploaded to “Find me”: not kept at all.
Technical logs: a short period.

8. Your choices and rights

Creators can edit or delete their albums, items and branding at any time from their dashboard, and can close their account by contacting us.
Buyers can ask for a list of their purchases from the “My purchases” page and can ask us to forget a browser.
Anyone can ask what personal information we hold about them, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to a use, by writing to hello@solberra.com. We will respond within 30 days. Some records must be kept as described in section 7.
Residents of states with privacy laws (for example California) have the rights those laws give; we do not sell or share personal information for advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of on that front.

9. Security

Payments are handled by Stripe; we never store card numbers. Media is stored in private storage and delivered through links that expire. Access to our systems is limited to the people who run the service.

10. Changes

We will post changes here and, for material changes, tell creators by email before they take effect.
